Merge PDF
Combine up to 100 PDFs in the order you choose, select page ranges from each source and preserve mixed page sizes and orientations locally in your browser.
Combine PDF files
Up to 100 PDFs • 200 MB recommended • 300 MB max • up to 1,500 source pages

PDF order & page selection
Page selection: leave all, or enter ranges such as 1-3,5,8-10. You can also use odd or even for a file.
Your merged PDF is ready
Drag PDF rows into position or use the up and down buttons, including on mobile.
Merge whole documents or select only the page ranges you actually need.
The limits are technical browser-safety limits, not a paid unlock or daily allowance.
Merge PDFs with control over order and pages
A PDF merger should do more than place files end to end. SonoFiles lets you decide the document order and, when needed, choose exactly which pages from each source PDF should appear in the final file.
At a glance
- Up to 100 PDF files in one merge task.
- 200 MB total is recommended for best reliability; the hard maximum is 300 MB.
- Up to 1,500 source pages.
- Page-range control: all pages, specific ranges, odd pages or even pages.
- Local processing: this tool merges files in your browser.
- No account, watermark or daily quota.
How to merge PDF files
Select two or more PDF files from your device.
Drag files or use the arrow buttons to arrange them.
Keep all pages or enter a page range for any source file.
Create one PDF and save it with your preferred file name.
Merge complete PDFs or only selected pages
Every added PDF defaults to all pages. For more control, enter a range such as 1-3,5,8-10. Use odd or even when you need one side of an alternating scan.
The page selector is validated against each source document, so an invalid page number is reported before SonoFiles creates the output.
What the merger preserves
Pages keep their own dimensions and orientation, so an A4 portrait page can sit beside a US Letter landscape page in the same merged document. The visible page content is copied rather than rasterized, which avoids intentionally reducing page quality during the merge.
Advanced document-level features can behave differently after pages are copied into a new PDF. Digital signatures, encryption, document-level scripts, portfolios, attachments, bookmarks and some interactive form behavior may not carry over as they did in the originals.
Large PDF batches and browser memory
A 200 MB total batch is recommended for best reliability, while the hard maximum is 300 MB. Complex PDFs can require much more working memory than their stored file size, so a device may struggle before reaching the hard maximum.
- For batches above 200 MB or several hundred pages, a desktop browser is strongly recommended.
- Close memory-heavy tabs before merging a very large batch.
- If a device runs out of memory, reduce the batch or merge it in smaller groups.
Password-protected and encrypted PDFs
This version does not bypass PDF passwords or security restrictions. If a source PDF is encrypted, unlock an authorized copy first and then add that copy to the merger. SonoFiles reports encrypted or unsupported files instead of pretending the merge succeeded.
Common reasons to combine PDFs
- Join a cover letter, résumé and supporting documents into one application PDF.
- Combine invoices, receipts or statements into a single archive.
- Put scanned pages from several files into the correct reading order.
- Assemble reports, appendices or handouts without rebuilding the source documents.
- Select only the relevant pages from longer PDFs before sharing them.
Privacy: where your files are processed
For this Merge PDF tool, processing happens locally in your browser. The selected PDFs do not need to be sent to a SonoFiles merge server. Your browser reads the source files, creates the new PDF in memory and gives you the resulting download.
As with any local browser tool, the device still needs enough memory and processing capacity for the task.
Page Selection Can Reduce Accidental Over-Sharing
A recipient may need only two pages from a long report rather than the entire source. Selecting exact ranges before merging creates a more focused final document and reduces unnecessary disclosure. This is not the same as redaction: sensitive information that remains on a selected page remains present. For privacy-sensitive documents, review every selected page and use a proper redaction or metadata-cleaning workflow where necessary.
Mixed A4, Letter, Legal and Landscape Pages Are Valid
A merged PDF does not need every page to use the same paper geometry. An A4 report can contain a US Letter attachment, a landscape spreadsheet or a Legal-size form. Preserving each copied page is usually safer than forcing everything into one size during the merge. If the final packet genuinely needs one standard size, convert page sizes after assembly so the sequence can be checked first.
Digital Signatures, Bookmarks and Forms Need Special Review
A cryptographic signature is tied to the original signed PDF and should not be expected to remain valid after pages are copied into a new merged file. Bookmarks, internal links and interactive forms can also rely on document-level structures beyond the visible page. For ordinary static PDFs, the visual merge is the main concern. For legal, signed or interactive documents, test those advanced features before distribution.
How to Verify a Complex Merged Packet
Check the first and last page, then inspect every boundary where one source ends and the next begins. Confirm that selected ranges contributed the expected number of pages. Search for a distinctive phrase from important sections when native text is available. For formal submissions, reopen the downloaded file in a mainstream PDF reader and confirm the final page count. Keep the source PDFs until the combined packet has been accepted.
Merge PDF frequently asked questions
Can I merge selected pages only?
Yes. Each source can use all pages, odd/even selection or supported ranges.
Can A4 and Letter pages be mixed?
Yes. Mixed page sizes and orientations are preserved.
Does merging compress the PDFs?
No intentional image compression is applied.
What happens to digital signatures?
Signature validity should not be assumed to survive creation of a new merged PDF.
How many PDFs can I combine?
Up to 100 files, 200 MB recommended, 300 MB max and up to 1,500 source pages.
Why can one source be rejected?
It may be encrypted, damaged or structurally unsupported.
Tools for Finishing a Combined PDF Packet
After assembly, the most common next steps are correcting page order, splitting the packet or reducing its final file size.
